Michael Alvarez
Michael Alvarez is the head instructor of the Kids and Adults Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs. He is a Black Belt under Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles Maciel and Hector Vasquez with nearly 20 years of experience in Jiu-Jitsu, along with other martial arts. In the years he spent teaching and competing under his professors, he has become proficient in the world-renowned Cobrinha system. Professor Michael has collected a vast amount of accolades over the course of his Jiu-Jitsu career, he has won many tournaments in the kids, juvenile, and adult divisions including prestigious ones such as IBJJF Pan American and World Championships. He is Professor Hector’s first student and world champion here in Las Vegas. Aside from titles, his true passion and reason behind founding Cobrinha BJJ LV South are to pass on the knowledge and love he has for the sport to the next generation of Jiu-Jitsu practitioners.

Maki “Coconut Bombz” Pitolo
Maki “Coconut Bombz” Pitolo is the head instructor of the Kids and Adults striking classes, dubbed “CBz Striking Club”. He is a professional mixed martial artist who has been a prizefighter for multiple MMA organizations including prestigious ones such as the UFC & Bellator. Coach Maki was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii where he lived the majority of his life before moving to Las Vegas. He has 10+ years of mixed martial arts experience whose nickname “Coconut Bombz” originated from his style of fighting with many of his fights being finished by way of knockout. Aside from his career in MMA, Coach Maki’s goal is to help others with combat sports, build a healthy lifestyle, and teach the next generation how to carry themselves with respect!
